I had the don't be greedy theory too, I got some snowmen and ale, then 1 shard, 2 coal, then after that all they do is explode. Strange, I traded 30 over to my brother's account but they all exploded there too, unless it's by IP i'm puzzled :S

Hey, every single Necro winter gift I opened blew up (I tried about 5-6). I didn't even know tey could give you stuff, I was under the impression they all blew up.

hmm between ghosts in the box (yay necro, tho I only have 80 and tend never to use them lol) and this, cool holiday bits that actually do something

but yeah they really shouldnt disappear or change
my only surprise is this could have real impact on pvp unless it doesnt work there

i already have over 400 of them, i recruited a few people tof farm them for me, so by the time i get back from work, i hope to have over 1,000.

You are not allowed to use them in PvP. It says, "This item cannot be used in competitive missions."

Ya the candy canes are great but does anyone know what the other items do? I tried the snowman summoner and all it does it make a snowman rise from the ground for a few seconds then fall back down. But it doesn't attack or interact with anything. The eggnog doesn't seem to do anything at all and neither does the winter gift. Any ideas?

I got one in Elona reach, helping out a guildie, just for kicks I tried using expert salvage and got a single glittering dust... I recommend not doing that.

To all you Kiddies that need information regarding this new quest...

You can get this quest from Vehemus on Lion's arch. It has a reward of 5,000 experience and some other cool items...

The first part of the quest tells you to ask around for termites... They can be found far North of Kryta. Go to the new ascalon settlement and continue to the beach to the west. There should be a boat shack there and an NPC that will tell you of his troubles and then give you termites. Don't worry that you don't get an item, you won't recieve any.

The next part of the quest tells you to ask around for some gunk... The gunk is fairly easy to do with henchies, but I would recommend doing it with other players. Go to the Temple of Ages and take the warp out of it. There is a path the extends SOUTH. Stay on the path and you will eventually come to a GUNK FARMER who will give you GUNK.

Your quest log will show your new objective of finding Garlic... Go to BEETLETUN and take the west warp gate out of town. The path will go straight but then branch off to the right. Stay on the right path. It will branch off again, but stay to the right. You will come to a necromancer and some guards. You will help the necromancer and the guards defeat a seperate band of guards. This is fairly easy with a group of henchies. After the battle talk to the necro and she will give you Garlic.

The last item to find will be DIRTY SOCKS... Travel to BERGEN HOT SPRINGS and exit through the warp gate. There will be an NPC called Drier Dane. He will steal an unsuspecting farmer's socks and then run away. Follow him until he finally stops and you will have the chance to speak to him. He will then give you the socks.

Finally, return to Vehemus in Lion's Arch and he will give you the next part of your quest, which will be to stomp some presents...

I haven't had a chance to check yet but someone has posted they put in a new crafter for gingerbread shield etc. This means you don't have to do the quest to get them, and you don't have to have Droknar on your map. (Unless I've misunderstood)

Note that items given by Grenth's followers are different than Dwayna's. Grenth's presents explode, Dwayna's give you items. Dwayna's snowmen pop from ground, Grenth's assault you from the air

I have a question about candy shards....

I have these, nothing wrong with them....

...but then i also got this one (didn't find it myself)

It can't stack with the other shards and i tried to ID it but it just said "That item is already identified"...anyone know why the shards aren't the same?
